Zolaikha Strong is the Vice President of Government Affairs for the National Hydropower Association spearheading advocacy initiatives for the industry before Congress, Administration and across state policy offices. Zolaikha is an energy executive and subject matter expert with 20 years of regulatory and legislative experience developing and promoting policies in key energy sector markets creating and directing strategic initiatives that align federal & state policy, regulation and legislation to grow energy markets across electrical sectors that impact generation, transmission and distribution systems, such as the integration of renewable energy, energy storage, electric vehicles and grid modernization. Prior to NHA, Zolaikha led the North American Clean Energy Program for the global Copper Alliance, advocated for infrastructure policies in the Office of Regulatory Affairs for Edison Electric Institute and was in an advisory position in the Office of Energy Markets and Rates at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Zolaikha holds a graduate degree in Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. A former Jersey Girl, she currently lives in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband Jason, son Pierce and their puppy Cosmo.
Zolaikha is the supporting NHA staff member for the Legislative Affairs Committee.
