Clean Currents: In October, In Person

Clean Currents: In October, In Person

NHA thanks our sponsors:

Emerson

Having an in-person event is not a decision taken lightly during a global pandemic. And the National Hydropower Association has not taken it lightly. Making a decision like this requires weighing the pros and potential cons and factoring in that you do everything within your power to minimize risk.

And that is exactly how we are proceeding.

Why Clean Currents Will Still Be In Person, In October

1) Clean Currents is about the future of the waterpower industry, and the future cannot be put on hold. Designed by the industry, for the industry, Clean Currents is bringing the tools you need for a successful 2022 under one roof. We know your needs, challenges, and aspirations, and we have created a conference to help you achieve.

CC: Central and the Innovation Power House are designed to introduce you to the world of possibilities–  both inside waterpower and from outside industries to make your plant leaner, meaner, and greener.

The Power House is where you get to be a part of the future of waterpower. We’ve developed a fun and innovative way to generate fresh ideas for next-generation research, development, and deployment. Industry and government can use the generated ideas to help shape priorities and funding for the future.

2) Projects are moving forward, and we all deserve a seat at the table.

Billions of dollars in investment will be spent on waterpower in the coming years. Knowing who is spending and where — or what type of projects they’re looking for — helps you design the future.

Asset owners from all across the country will be at Clean Currents. This conference is designed to connect the supplier community to the industry’s decision-makers. Top CEOs and other executives will be at the Clean Currents event to do business.

3) Learning from one another is the best kind of learning. The educational aspects of Clean Currents were developed around a simple concept: learn from your peers.

With four learning environments—roundtable dialogues, classroom presentations, panel discussions, and workshops— the programming is designed to facilitate discussion and peer learning.

Clean Currents will offer 16.5 professional development hours with a sharp focus on issues that impact the business of waterpower — operations, maintenance, safety, business/market opportunities, and environmental concerns, just to name a few.

4) Clean Currents is worth coming to, because it was designed for you. To be certain, not every conference is worth the hassle. You spend the time and money and walk away with much less than you hoped for.

Clean Currents is not that type of conference.

No matter who you are in the waterpower industry, we have designed the conference for you.

And that’s without including the Technology and Innovation Exchanges that will take place at the Innovation Demonstration stations in the Innovation Power House.

And more than 20 networking events designed to help you meet the attendees you came to meet.

Waterpower is a Safety-first Industry, and COVID Hasn’t Changed That

Ensuring that Clean Currents is the safest possible event is our top priority as we take guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as local government requirements and guidance.

To that end, the NHA team and the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta have initiated numerous safety measures (all outlined on our COVID-19 guidance page).

Those measures include:

  • Clean Currents will feature socially distanced room setups and will practice social distancing throughout our conference area.
  • The proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and work practices in place to combat biohazards and infectious disease.
  • Highly informed cleaning professionals who are trained for outbreak and infectious disease preparation and response.
  • NHA will provide each attendee with an NHA-branded mask to wear while indoors (in compliance with Atlanta City ordinance)

The Georgia World Congress Center announced in June that it was the first convention center in the United States to achieve Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR facility accreditation.

NHA looks forward to the upcoming Clean Currents Conference + Tradeshow at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA on October 18-22, 2021.

We will be there to learn, explore, and grow—safely.
