Big funding news for marine energy! Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $15.5 million in marine energy investments. Of the $15.5 million, two #marineenergy projects will receive a combined $6 million to support the development and installation of one or more tidal energy devices that can be transitioned to a commercial project. The selected projects belong to the following: ORPC & Orcas Power and Light Cooperative. Additionally, a community-led river current energy research and development project in Alaska was selected to receive $9.5 million. This funding is supported by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and it encourages U.S. leadership to continue pursuing tidal and current energy developments by utilizing the United States' abundance of marine energy resources. Seeking a JV collaboration to develop this patented "DRY" wave energy converter [WEC]. "DRY", because this WEC is NEVER in direct contact with water. It is mounted on a floating platform or barge. Contains a plurality of independent linear generators with a single unit. Watch https://youtu.be/FjtberxuuQY to understand it's workings.
Congratulations, ORPC!!
Congratulations ORPC and Orcus power. FYI Just about anything will operate for a short time but only the most robust will survive long term. Consider genuine lignum vitae bearings in salt, or fresh water for clean or unfiltered operation. We offer decades of clean running with no shredding plastic or PFAS contamination.
Great! We at GEDCO offer an innovative solution (https://ged-co.com/product/) for distributed generation of hydropower from water streams (canals/rivers) using our unique microturbine.
Great to see the cash tap opening up for marine energy, well done DOE.
congratulations!
Well done!
ORPC and its team of partners are thrilled for the opportunity to advance tidal energy in Alaska's Cook Inlet through the American Tidal Energy Project. Congratulations to all selectees!
