VIDEO: Path to Clean Energy Virtual Event: What’s After Renewable Portfolio Standards?

On July 23, the National Hydropower Association hosted its inaugural Path to Clean Energy Virtual Event, “What’s After Renewable Portfolio Standards?” in partnership with the National Association of State Energy Officials.

About the Event

For years, states adopted Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) to compensate renewable resources for their environmental attributes and incentivize investments in new generation. Increasingly, states are considering whether to replace their RPS with modern Clean Energy Standards (CES) that provide a technology-neutral mechanism for encouraging all forms of carbon-free generation, both new and existing.

The webinar will showcase a panel of leading state energy officials to discuss options for achieving states’ increasingly ambitious clean energy goals.

This webinar will also feature a discussion with U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), chair of the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, who will share her thoughts on America’s clean energy future.

State Energy Officials Panel:

  • Angela Navarro, Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade, Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Sushma Masemore, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Environment and State Energy Director, North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality
  • Victoria Hackett, Deputy Commissioner of Energy, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection

Path to Clean Energy is a program of the National Hydropower Association.
