NHA Congratulates Jehmal Hudson’s Appointment to VA State Corporation Commission
Washington, D.C. (June 10, 2020) – Malcolm Woolf, President and CEO of the National Hydropower Association (NHA), today issued the following statement on the appointment of Jehmal Hudson, NHA’s VP of Government Affairs, to serve as a commissioner on Virginia’s State Corporation Commission, which oversees utilities and insurance, securities and banking industries.
“We congratulate Jehmal on his appointment to the Virginia State Corporation Commission, and believe Governor Ralph Northman made the right choice. As the first African American to serve on the Commission, Jehmal is a trailblazer who will leverage his deep working knowledge of the energy industry and extensive regulatory experience to advance the business and economic interests of Virginia. For NHA and our industry, Jehmal’s appointment is bittersweet, because of the amazing work he was doing to ensure that hydropower plays a major role in decarbonizing the U.S. energy mix.”
