Verdant Power was founded in 2000 and has been a pioneer in developing technologies that generate clean energy from the naturally occurring currents of tides and rivers. Its accomplishments include being awarded the first FERC license in the US for commercial sale of electricity generated by tidal turbines, installing the world’s first grid-connected array of tidal turbines, and achieving the world’s first third-party verification of tidal turbine power performance to IEC standards. Verdant is now focused on developing commercial projects in the US and abroad.
