Hydro-Québec/HQ Energy Services U.S. is a vertically integrated utility that is publicly owned by the Québec government. The company’s 23,000 employees serve over 3.8 million customers in Québec. Total installed capacity (renewables accounting for 93% of generation) from the 57 hydroelectric generating stations, 28 conventional thermal stations, one nuclear station, and one wind farm, equals 35,647 MW, with total electricity sales of 192 TWh. In 2007, Hydro-Québec’s revenues amounted to approximately USD 12.3 billion.
