Hydropower System Principles Training
Although there are various training offerings available in the industry covering different aspects of hydropower, there does not exist an all-encompassing option looking at the full system of hydropower production…until now! Designed and tested by more than 50 experts, we called on our members and industry partners to offer their best in-class expertise to train hydropower professionals.

Next Course Starting in February –
FEBRUARY COHORT – meeting for 5 hours at a time, once a month for eight consecutive months (usually third Friday of each month), starting February 20, 2026.
Earn an NHA Certification by completing the full Course (40 hours of content).

Work through the eight modules in a virtually facilitated, faculty-led setting for 5 hours once per month.

Another Course Starting in Fall 2026-

Virtual Overview Training in 2026 – Receive 8 PDHs while learning about all aspects of the hydropower industry
The Hydro Academy will be offering a concise 8-hour training (broken up into two afternoon sessions) this coming Spring season. Earn 8 Professional Development Hours virtually (April 2 & 3) covering 8 tenets of the hydropower industry.
Virtual Overview
The next virtual Overview training will be held April 2 and 3, 2026 via Microsoft Teams. If you are unable to attend our live overview, this is a great way to save on travel costs, and still learn from – and connect with – other professionals in the industry.
This Overview provides a total of 8 hours of instruction over two days, covering all 8 modules in an “overview” manner (for those wanting more of a “deep dive” into each module, please remember that enrolling in the Course after taking the overview entitled a learner to a 15% discount on the Course).
Upon completion of the Overview, each learner receives 8 hours of professional development credit (PDHs).
