NHA Hydro Academy

NHA is offering a Hydro Academy Course on December 5 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Optimizing Safety and Unit Protection. The course will be taught by Eaton and participants earn a certificate for 2 PDHs.

Registration for the Hydro Academy course is separate from the 2022 Southeast Regional Meeting.

Meeting Location & Accommodations

Originally, the 2022 Southeast Regional Meeting was slated to be held at the Marriott Downtown Chattanooga. Due to renovation plans at the Marriott, the event has moved to the Westin Chattanooga.

The room block is closed and the Westin Chattanooga is completely sold out over our event dates.

There are a number of alternative hotels that are close by, including the Marriott Downtown Chattanooga and the Indigo Hotel. You can go here to see other hotels in Downtown Chattanooga. Please be sure to check the distance from the Westin before making your hotel arrangements.

Note that these other locations have not been vetted by NHA, nor does NHA have a room block or agreement with any of these other venues.

Jacinda Woodward, Senior Vice President of Power Operations at TVA, will host a casual meet and greet Coffee Chat before the start of the Regional Meeting on December 6. Attendees are invited to join at their leisure and take advantage of this unique opportunity!

Monday, December 5
9:00 AM: Depart for Hydro Project Tour
9:30 – 12:00 PM: Tour of Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant
12:30 PM: Arrive back at hotel / Lunch on own
2:00 – 4:00 PM: NHA Hydro Academy: Optimizing Safety and Unit Protection (SEPARATE REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
5:00 – 6:30 PM: Networking Welcome Reception

Tuesday, December 6
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Networking Coffee
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM: 2022 Southeast Regional Meeting

Tour Information

 

TVA will host a tour of Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant. This tour will feature technical information and an opportunity to see the project up close. It is included with the cost of registration.

There will be a 50 person capacity limit for the tour. Unfortunately, no guests will be allowed to join. The cut-off date to RSVP for the tour is November 28, 2022.

You will have the opportunity to RSVP for the tour when you register for the event. If you need to change your RSVP, please contact Marycella Dumlao.

 

 

 

Transportation

The bus will leave from the Chattanooga Marriott at 9:00AM sharp on December 5.

Tour attendees will not be allowed to drive themselves to the facility.

Security

Please bring a government-issued photo identification.

Foreign Nationals: Non-U.S. citizens (including Canadian citizens) will be required to undergo additional screening and paperwork ahead of time. This will need to be completed by November 20, 2022.

Photos: Photos are prohibited in certain areas of the facility, including the control rooms. The tour guide will advise attendees when photos are not allowed.

Bags: Please leave your bags, water bottles, and other belongings on the bus.

Dress Code

Close-toed shoes are required and work boots are highly recommended. No sandals or heels. No loose or baggy clothing.

PPE will be provided on-site by TVA but attendees are welcome to bring their own if they wish.
