Dept. of Energy: 2021 Marine Energy Collegiate Competition Virtual Pitches

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hosting a challenge for university students to advance one of the most up-and-coming industries: marine energy. This competition is designed to challenge interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate and graduate students to offer unique solutions to the burgeoning marine energy industry that can play a vital role in powering the blue economy.

Attend the 2021 Marine Energy Collegiate Competition Virtual Pitches: WPTO and NREL will host the 2021 MECC virtual pitches on April 26-27.

Over the two-day event, the 16 teams will present their business pitches and detailed technology designs for their chosen markets, followed by the awards ceremony on April 29. From systems leveraging marine energy to power offshore aquaculture to wave-powered desalination systems to provide coastal communities with potable water, this year’s MECC submissions proved to impress!
