NHA has affiliations with several organizations dedicated to promoting hydropower's benefits. NHA created the Hydro Research Foundation (HRF), a nonprofit educational foundation several years ago. It's mission is to facilitate research and to promote educational opportunities. The US Hydropower Council for International Development grew out of NHA's old International committee and is dedicated to furthering the needs of the U.S. hydro industry in the international arena.
