Taking Hydro’s Message to Capitol Hill
One of the most important activities you can participate in while you’re in Washington, D.C., is to meet with your Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill to share hydro’s message.
By making a trip to Capitol Hill during the conference, you’ll:
• deliver specific waterpower messages to your Senators and Representatives
• be an important part of the effort to move the waterpower agenda forward in Congress
• bring home valuable insight and perspectives to share with key colleagues
New this year, the National Hydropower Association is offering training in advance of the conference to help you learn how to effectively present your message to Congressional representatives and how to make the most of face–to–face visits on Capitol Hill.
Advance webinar training –– scheduled in early 2008 –– provides helpful tips on how to:
• identify issues of local/regional importance that relate to national concerns
• prepare and shape items of discussion
• deliver your message during your visit
NHA will also help you pre–arrange appointments on Capitol Hill throughout the conference and will accompany groups to the Hill to facilitate these visits.
